Publication Ethics

The Journal of Technology Informatics and Engineering (JTIE) is a peer-reviewed and open access journal that publishes original research articles, reviews, and applied studies in the fields of Informatics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems, and Industrial Engineering. The journal is published three times a year, in April, August, and December.

JTIE is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all possible measures against publication malpractice. This statement is based on the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics and applies to all parties involved in the publication process, including authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher.

The journal adheres to the following core ethical principles:

  • Fairness: Providing equal treatment without discrimination
  • Accountability: Maintaining responsibility for all published content

Duties of Authors

Reporting Standards
Authors must present an accurate and objective account of the research conducted. Data must be reported honestly without fabrication, falsification, or inappropriate manipulation.

Originality and Plagiarism
Authors must ensure that their work is entirely original (Check the Policy Screening of Plagiarism). Proper acknowledgment of the work of others must always be given. Plagiarism in any form is unacceptable.

Multiple, Redundant, or Concurrent Publication
Authors should not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously. Redundant or duplicate publication is considered unethical. Kindly check our Author Guidelines.

 Authorship of the Paper
Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made significant contributions to the research. All co-authors must approve the final version of the manuscript.

Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
Authors must disclose any financial or other conflicts of interest that may influence the results or interpretation of the manuscript.

Acknowledgment of Sources
All sources of data and prior research must be properly cited.

Fundamental Errors in Published Works
Authors must promptly notify the editor if a significant error is identified and cooperate in correcting or retracting the article.

Ethical Considerations
Research involving human participants, animals, or hazardous materials must comply with relevant ethical standards and regulations.

Duties of Editors

Publication Decisions
Editors are responsible for deciding which manuscripts are accepted, based on the peer-review process and the journal’s scope and standards.

Fair Play
Editors evaluate manuscripts based on intellectual merit without discrimination.

Confidentiality
Editors must ensure that all submitted manuscripts are treated as confidential documents.

Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
Editors must not use unpublished materials for their own research and must avoid conflicts of interest.

Integrity of the Scholarly Record
Editors are responsible for maintaining the quality and integrity of published content and addressing ethical concerns when they arise.

Duties of Reviewers

Confidentiality
Reviewers must treat manuscripts as confidential and must not share or use the information for personal advantage.

Objectivity
Reviews must be conducted objectively and supported with clear arguments.

Acknowledgment of Sources
Reviewers should identify relevant work not cited and inform the editor of any potential overlap or similarity.

Conflict of Interest
Reviewers must decline to review manuscripts where conflicts of interest exist.

Timeliness
Reviewers should complete reviews within the agreed timeframe.

Ethical Oversight and Misconduct

JTIE takes ethical violations seriously. Any form of misconduct, including plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, or unethical research practices, will result in appropriate actions such as:

  • Manuscript rejection
  • Retraction of published articles
  • Notification to affiliated institutions if necessary
